Other Committee · Meeting of May 13, 2026

Easton's Environmental Stewardship Committee reappointed its liaisons and began planning a leadership handover. Members voted 5-0 to keep Amy Spencer on the Stormwater Utility Steering Committee and 6-0 to keep incoming chair Carolyn McAfferty on the Committee for Climate Action Planning, both for fiscal 2026-2027. McAfferty, a 32-year Air Force veteran set to succeed outgoing Chair Christina by June 16, said "what I don't want to do is do six months and say guys, I'm out." New member Rachel floated using AI tools like Zoom's AI Companion to draft minutes and agendas, asking, "I wonder if we could more smartly streamline the process." The group also discussed a possible composting demonstration with Black Earth and Langwater Farm and assigned liaisons to the schools, ECAT and the Natural Resources Trust.
