Other Committee · Meeting of October 13, 2026

Easton's Municipal Building Committee recommended $912,269.86 in police and fire equipment, including a new radio tower, to the Select Board. The panel voted 5-0 to forward $183,328.86 for police crime-lab and VR training gear and separately 5-0 for $728,941 in fire equipment, dominated by a $433,340, 180-foot radio tower. Fire Chief Alexander said the town discovered it lacked legal rights to its existing privately owned tower on Boundary Street.

Project representative Mitch reported the combined Public Safety/DPW building project is now tracking toward February and March 2027 completion, slipping from a December 2026 target, due to a required smoke evacuation system redesign and geothermal well drilling delays. The committee also reviewed an August walkthrough of the Richardson Olmsted School, where members flagged aging flooring and windows.
