Other Committee · Meeting of July 16, 2026

Easton Housing Authority receives federal no-shortfall notice and advances five capital projects. The authority's five commissioners voted unanimously on all items at the July 14 meeting, approving a June warrant of $306,356.18 and receiving May 2026 financial statements that showed electricity costs spiking to nearly $68,000 for one billing period, a figure executive director Karen attributed to months of unbilled usage catching up with cold-weather demand. HUD notified the authority it faces no projected operating shortfall for the current fiscal year, prompting commissioners to direct staff to maintain course on its financial plan.

Active projects include a root-cause septic study at the Chandler property through Graves Engineering, a sidewalk replacement with pavement binder expected within a week, Federal Pacific panel bids received July 10 and awaiting award, and a facilities condition assessment in progress through July 21. The authority was also named a beneficiary of the Easton Festival of Trees, with proceeds designated for tenant events.
