Other Committee · Meeting of August 11, 2026

Easton Human Rights Committee backs $1,500 for Native history programming at fall festival. The committee voted to allocate up to $1,500 toward Wampanoag cultural educator Darius Coombs and related activities at the Natural Resources Trust's October 4 harvest festival at Sheep Pasture, plus a separate $400 for a new order of committee t-shirts. Treasurer Kathy reported a balance of $5,078.04, all from private donations and grants; the committee receives no town budget line item.

Indivisible Easton organizers Ali Shea and Kat Couture pitched a September 26 "Walk for Peace" at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, seeking to partner with the committee as they did for June's Pride event. New member Nusheen, a software engineer and Muslims for Progressive Values chapter lead, was welcomed to the committee.
