Housing Trust Approves Minutes, Weighs $3M Project

Other Committee · Meeting of September 9, 2026

Easton Affordable Housing Trust seeks outside guidance on spending its $3 million reserve. Chair Nikki Dostumian and Select Board Representative Jen Stacey invited Jenny, executive director of the Northern Middlesex Council of Governments, to help the board choose among workforce, veteran and senior housing priorities. The trust unanimously approved its July 22 minutes, 7-0, and welcomed new member Beth Myers.

Housing Authority representative Chrisanne Sheedy asked, "should we be doing an affordable housing needs assessment," questioning whether senior housing is truly the town's top-verified need. Members cited a comparable $10.5 million, 24-unit supportive housing project recently completed in Stoughton and noted Easton sits 13 units short of the state's 10 percent affordable housing threshold. The board agreed to update its housing production plan, expiring next summer, and quietly begin socializing project ideas with town administration and the Select Board.
