Easton Human Rights Committee OKs corrected minutes

Other Committee · Meeting of September 2, 2026

Easton Human Rights Committee welcomes a new member, juggles fall event logistics. The committee seated Jenny Dunkley, a special education consultant and state Commission on Disabilities member, and approved corrected minutes 9-0 with one abstention. Treasurer Kathy reported a $5,206.04 balance.

Members are finalizing a September 26 "Walk for Peace" with Indivisible Easton amid a same-day Unity Church yard sale, and an October 4 NRT event featuring Wampanoag-themed activities, still awaiting word from an outside educator after three weeks of silence: "I just want to see how flaky they are," one member said. The committee deferred a vote on its religious holiday observance calendar to October, after Colleen reported new Superintendent Chrissy Pruitt asked to hold off on bringing the committee's land acknowledgement to schools.
