Other Committee · Meeting of June 16, 2026

Easton Housing Authority backs new director's contract and a $465,000 creative placemaking grant bid. At a June 16 special meeting, the five-member board voted unanimously to authorize Executive Director Karen to make only administrative corrections, fixing scrivener's errors and a handwritten cover page, to her employment contract before resubmitting it to the state Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, which had objected to two negotiated provisions: 10 carried sick days and three weeks of annual vacation. Commissioner Tebow framed the board's position plainly: "We made a deal with Karen.

You don't just get to tear that up and say sorry." The board also unanimously approved submission of the "Wings in the Wood" grant application, a $465,000 proposal to the EOHLC Creative Placemaking Award program to rehabilitate gazebos at the Parker and Lee Circle properties and install a nature-themed healing garden, one of only 10 awards EOHLC will make statewide, with a June 18 deadline. The board approved a May warrant of $336,059.18, doubled the annual maintenance-staff boot stipend from $100 to $200, and approved the Certificate of Substantial Completion for the Day and Barrows Streets septic replacement project; a paving project with Century Paving was set to begin the following morning.
