Panel Votes to Recommend $2.2M Tech Package

Easton building committee recommends $2.2 million in tech buys for new public safety, DPW facilities. Consultants Mitch, Greg and Jim, presenting for the project's architecture/management team and IT consultant Advanced Technology, proposed three awards totaling $2,187,387.38: $1,563,644.45 to Whaley Computer for networking and servers, $510,269.65 to ProAV for audio-visual work, and $113,473.28 to CTI for a new VoIP phone system. Chair Andy and members Ken, Jason, Jim and Lauren voted 5-0 to forward the package to the Select Board.
Roughly $200,000 in additional ProAV equipment tied to a FEMA Emergency Operations Center grant was held back pending federal review. Member Dave said "90 percent of the town's phone system will now be new."
