Select Board · Meeting of July 20, 2026

Easton Select Board votes immediate Level 3 water restrictions and approves $185,684 public safety change order. The Water Commissioners voted unanimously to enter Level 3 outdoor watering restrictions, one day per week, without waiting for the mandatory trigger, after Director of Public Works Dave Field and Treatment Plant Supervisor Scott Cheatham reported the Taunton River gauge at 65 to 67 cubic feet per second, closing on the 47-cubic-feet-per-second threshold, and noted the town has already pumped nearly 16 million more gallons than at the same point last year. The Select Board separately approved Change Order No. 10 for the Police, Fire, and Public Works Facilities Project, $185,684 covering 14 items including a $50,662 all-carrier cellular amplification system and a $37,416 segregated video evidence system for three police interview rooms, with 88.5 percent of the owner contingency still in reserve at 76.3 percent of contract time elapsed.

Field also disclosed that the Blanche Ames School project closed with the MSBA at $81.6 million, $13.1 million under the $94.8 million voter-approved budget. The board created the new Easton Celebrations Committee, a ten-member successor to the Tri-Centennial Committee funded exclusively through donations and sponsorships, and approved a $963,370 design amendment with Apex Engineering for Industrial Park Sewer Phase 2, bringing total design costs to $1,399,070.
