Easton Board OKs $500,000 for Road Design

Select Board · Meeting of August 10, 2026

Easton Select Board adds $500,000 to Foundry Street road design, appoints two to town boards. Director of Public Works Dave Field told the board the amendment brings the town's design contract with engineering firm TEC to $1.25 million, funded mainly by a $500,000 Housing Choice grant, calling himself "optimistic that we're moving in the right direction." Members voted 4-0 by roll call to appoint attorney Hansen Bargantin as an Economic Development Council alternate and Beth Myers to the Affordable Housing Trust through June 30, 2028. The board also voted unanimously to acknowledge the withdrawal of a wine and malt liquor license for Furnace Brook Provisions on Foundry Street after the applicant could not satisfy state licensing conditions, and approved expanded road closures for the town's summer concert series.

Town Administrator Liz Dennehy called the new Station One fire substation "worthy of the great work they do every day."
