Easton School Committee Unanimously Appoints Ann Weintraub as Next Assistant Superintendent
EASTON — May 14, 2026 — Easton School Committee unanimously appoints Ann Weintraub as the district's next assistant superintendent. The committee voted 5-0 Thursday to approve Superintendent Dr. Theresa Cabral's recommendation to elevate Weintraub, the district's director of curriculum and English language learners and a 32-year district veteran, to replace the departing Dr. Chrissy Pruitt effective July 1, 2026, pending contract negotiations. Director of Human Resources Christina DiNapoli said a structured internal search committee reached a unanimous recommendation to advance Weintraub, whose EL department she described as growing from three staff members to nine under Weintraub's leadership. The committee also approved a three-year literacy curriculum contract with Great Minds, transitioning K-8 classrooms from the Wit & Wisdom program to an updated version called Arts & Letters, at a total cost of $371,911.68, with more than $200,000 representing a one-time migration expense. Separately, Easton Educators Association President Zachary Dyer used public comment to call a district notice requiring teachers to add a class period without pay "a moral outrage" and "a dubious legal breach of our contract," moments before the committee entered executive session to discuss collective bargaining strategy with EEA Units A and C.
