EASTON — The Easton Conservation Commission voted unanimously to clear the historic Langwater estate for up to 12 tented weddings a year. Attorney Tanya Trevisan, representing Langwater Property and LGBC LLC manager Ali Ames, told the board the Trustees of Reservations and Historic New England both submitted letters of support for the plan, which includes parking for roughly 155 vehicles and a realigned farm driveway. One commissioner called it "win-win-win for everybody," arguing the tented events could even qualify as agricultural activity.
In other action, the commission issued orders of conditions for projects at 146 Pine Street, 37 Sharon Drive and 302 Bay Road, released $4,200 in surety funds to Tom Powers, and continued other applications to its November 2 meeting. Commissioners also debated an enforcement case at 8R Poquanicut Street, ultimately letting homeowner Dan O'Brien submit his own planting plan rather than hire a wetland scientist.
