Health Board Approves Septic Tank Location Fix
Board of Health · Meeting of August 17, 2026
Easton Board of Health approves after-the-fact septic fix on tight Palm Street lot. Members Mills and Buechner voted 2-0 to grant a local upgrade approval for a septic system whose tanks ended up partly under the driveway during construction. Engineer Eric Dias of Strongpoint Engineering, representing the Stetson family, said the tanks are "H20 loaded" and accessible despite the placement, calling the result "a nice, clean lot" once finished.
A staff member, identified only as Kristen, said the setup would have cleared review routinely "if it had come in for review this way." The board also reported no Eastern equine encephalitis cases in Massachusetts this year and limited West Nile virus activity as close as Brockton. Motion language cited the property twice as "48 Pond Street," differing from the "48 Palm Street" address used elsewhere in discussion.
