Easton Planning Board Approves Duplex and Self-Storage Facility on Same Night

EASTON -- May 26, 2026, Easton Planning Board unanimously approved permits for a landscaping-business duplex and a self-storage facility at its May 26 remote meeting. The board voted 4-0 to grant a special permit and site plan approval for a mixed-use duplex proposed by Rob Vieira of Vieira Landscaping at 41 Washington Street, adding a condition requiring road salt stockpiles to be stored in approved covered structures to prevent aquifer runoff. The board then voted 5-0 on both a special permit and site plan review for a three-story climatized self-storage building and accessory structure proposed by Ironwood Acquisitions LLC at 19, 23, and 27 Eastman Street, with engineer Scott Rogers of JK Homegrown Engineering confirming a peer review letter dated May 20 had resolved all outstanding comments. Chair Robert Stetson announced he will not seek reappointment when his term expires at the end of June, ending eight years on the board; he also flagged that federal funding for the town's industrial park sewer connection has not materialized, leaving the administration to search for alternative financing.
